We decided to move ourselves because I have a lot of furniture and other stuff at my mom’s house in Mississippi, so we packed up our apartment in NYC and drove here to Mississippi last week and plan to drive to Las Vegas later in the week. I had driven our moving truck when we moved to NYC, so we were confident we could handle it. However, on Friday night when we were about an hour from my mom’s house, we had a blowout. It was such a scary situation, but my boyfriend was able to pull the truck over and call Budget customer service without us getting hurt. We did have to wait over an hour for help, but a really nice serviceman came to help us. I tried to find humor in the situation by taking pictures, but, as you can see above, they didn’t come out very clear.
After our shakeup, we decided to stay a few extra days and have been enjoying lots of hanging out. Yesterday, we visited the Ashley Furniture Store, which is the number one selling home furniture brand in North America, in Tupelo, MS. We didn’t buy anything (there is no room in the moving truck!) and some stuff just is not our style, but I liked some of the things, such as the desks for my boyfriend’s home office and an entertainment center that you can mount a flat screen on, and the prices are great. Ashley has stores all over the country and can be found at www.ashleyfurniture.com. There is a huge Ashley factory a few miles north of my mom’s home, so I can’t help but want to support a brand that so many in the community work for!
